On our way to the Bible college Thursday morning, we ran into a traffic jam of sorts. This was not a typical Indian traffic jam. It was caused by a river of women in procession. Fortunately we were at the very front with ring-side seats. So of course, all of us Americans grabbed our cameras, jumped out of the car and started shooting pictures. I had mine on rapid repeat. So you might get a little feel for what we saw. What you will miss here is the drum beating and chanting that accompanied this sight....

When we got to the school, we asked about the procession. At first they were confused and dismissed it. But then we started describing the costumes and what the women carried on their heads. So they told us these women are worshiping the sun. This was a celebration of the sun god.
I thought it was interesting. :)
